I had the pleasure of bringing the concept of "Hikari" to life for this coffee shop brand. "Hikari" means "light" or "brightness" in Japanese, and the goal was to reflect that sense of warmth, energy, and comfort throughout the branding. From the start, my client and I wanted to position Hikari Coffee as more than just a place to grab a drink—it’s a source of brightness in people’s day, just like a ray of sunlight. We approached the logo design with this in mind, using flowing lines alongside the name “Hikari” to convey movement and energy, reminiscent of sun rays. The color scheme played a key role in bringing this concept to life. We chose a bright, cheerful yellow to symbolize warmth and vitality, paired with a deeper shade of blue that adds a sense of purity and quality. Together, these colors create a balance of vibrancy and calm, capturing the feeling of enjoying a warm, energizing cup of coffee.
